Some of the children featured in the series are as young as 13.

“Generation Drag focuses on five kids — Noah, Jameson, Vinny, Bailey, and Nabela — and their families. It traces the leadup to the most important performance of these teens’ young lives at Dragutante, a nonprofit event that allows LGBTQ + youth to connect with each other, meet mentors in the drag community, and, at the end of the day, stomp the runway in their own performances. “

The news resulted in backlash among Twitter users who say Tyra was “terrible” to contestants on her long-running series “America’s Next Top Model.”

One contestant described her time on the show as “psychological warfare.”

Doctors say transgender youths and others diagnosed with gender dysphoria have a high rate of attempted suicide (over 46%). The public worries that Tyra’s in-your-face criticism may be too difficult for some of the youngsters to handle.

One Twitter user wrote: “She wants to give traumatic experiences to younger people at this point.”

Another user tweeted: “Isn’t the consensus that she’s been terrible to the self esteem of young people from America’s Next Top Model? Now they want to subject teenagers to her?”

And a third person tweeted: “Not her homophobic a * s : | you cannot be serious. “

Tyra does not appear in the trailer below.
