The Quebec Coroner is investigating the death of 37-year-old singer and songwriter Karim Welle.
Quebec City Police said on Tuesday officers found Huel’s body in a building Monday night in the La Cité district of Limoille.
Dakar-born Welle, Senegal, debuted in the music industry with his album The train, released in 2011. He has released two other successful albums featuring hip-hop, funk and folk-pop.

He has received several awards in his career, such as Juno 2014 for the French-language album of the year for his second album, The fox.
Quebec Prime Minister Francois Lego posted a tweet on Tuesday in which he expressed his condolences to the Welle family, saying “the young artist has brought a new style of music to Quebec.”
Federal NDP leader Jagmit Singh tweeted today that he was saddened by the news of the singer’s death.
