Harry Potter and the Cursed Child star fired on Broadway for behavior – National


The actor, who played Harry Potter, was fired from a Broadway production Harry Potter and the Cursed Child after a colleague complained on stage about his behavior.

Producers said Sunday night that after an independent investigation into the incident, they decided to terminate the contract with James Snyder. The exact nature of his behavior was not specified. Snyder did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

A statement from the producers said that in November they received a complaint against Snyder from a colleague on the film and immediately dismissed Snyder from work. The female partner decided to leave the Broadway show.

In a play that has lasted 19 years since the last novel by J. K. Rowling, Potter and his friends are portrayed as adults. He received the Tony Award for Best New Performance of 2018.

“We are committed to a safe and inclusive workplace, so we have robust policies and procedures for everyone involved in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,“- said in a statement the producers.

“This includes strict prohibitions on harassment in any form, as well as channels through which any employee can report conduct that they believe is inappropriate. We will continue to do our best to make the extremely talented team that puts this production into practice feel safe, empowered and fully supported, ”the producers said.
