Everyone agrees that last night’s MET Gala was boring because half the celebrities didn’t stay on theme.
The theme for the 2022 MET Gala was “In America: An Anthology of Fashion: Gilded Glamor and White Tie.”
The term “Gilded Age” was coined by the author Mark Twain. It means an embarrassment of riches and materialism.
80% of the celebrities were off theme last night. They were asked to do one thing, but their egos got in the way.
The costumes looked like a mashup between Halloween and Harry Potter.
The only celebrities who killed it last night were actress Blake Lively and Telemundo reporter Genesis Suero.
Blake is best known for playing Serena van der Woodsen in The CW series Gossip Girl. She wore a crowd-pleasing copper Atelier Versace gown with a massive bow that when unwrapped, transformed into a dramatic aqua blue dress.
Her proud husband, actor Ryan Reynoldsstood back and let her shine.
“I arrived copper and then, like New York City classic architecture, I patinaed,” Blake told a reporter.
Then there was the Telemundo reporter Genesis Suero who shut the red carpet down last night.
Miss New York USA won praise for outshining celebrities at fashion’s biggest event of the year.
