America’s baby formula crisis will soon come to an end.

The US Air Force will fly 71,000 pallets of baby formula from Europe to hospitals and store shelves in the US, according to reports.

This is welcome news to parents of newborns and infants who still depend on baby formula.

The White House said Friday that the first pallets of baby formula will arrive in Indiana this weekend.

132 pallets of infant and baby formula will be flown from Ramstein Air Base in Germany this weekend and another 114 pallets of baby formula are expected to arrive in the coming week.

A total of 1.5 million bottles of three formulas will arrive in the US this week. The baby formulas are hypoallergenic for babies and infants with allergies to cow’s milk protein.

The crisis started after the US Food & Drug Administration closed down the Abbott factory in Michigan after two babies died from contaminated baby formula.

Only a handful of factories in the entire US make baby formula.

Parents first noticed formula disappearing from store shelves in February after the Abbott plant was shut down.

The crisis worsened due to panic buying, hoarders, and online vendors emptying store shelves.
